Though its name, Palmarosa, makes it sound like it might be a tree or a rose plant, Palmarosa essential oil actually comes from a grass that is dried then steam distilled to create this fresh, clear to pale yellow essential oil. As a grass that can grow almost 10 feet tall, and with its bright, shining aroma, it’s no wonder the plant requires abundant sunshine to grow. Palmarosa essential oil contains a high percentage of geraniol, which is one of the same primary aroma constituents in Rose essential oil. Where Does Palmarosa Essential Oil Come From?
doTERRA sources pure Palmarosa oil from Nepal. Native to Southeast Asia, the grass grows well thanks to the humid, wetland environment. It is harvested by steam distilling the leaves and stems of the grass, which produces a clear or pale-yellow oil.
